Need help removing cowl vent - F1
Hello,
I've got my cab/interior completely stripped EXCEPT the cowl vent. I can't quite figure out how it get the arm off so it will come through the hole in the cowl!! What am I missing. I've got the vent loose from the cowl but it won't come through because of the handle arm. The only bolt/nut I see on it is the 'tension' bolt. The pivot end appears to be riveted - do I have to grind that off to get it out??
Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks in advance!

I recently installed two of these, so I feel your pain.
You have to remove that tension bolt so that the arms will fold enough out of the way. IMPORTANT: The piece in the tensioner that looks like a bushing is really threaded on. You have to take the "nut" off, then hold the "bushing" and turn the "bolt" out. Pay attention to the washers and spring locations for reassembly. Draw a picture before you take it apart.
After the bolt is out, the handle, flap and frame will come out without grinding. It just takes alot of twisting and turning. Try to remember how it pops out so you have an idea when putting it in.
Good Luck:
