I'm looking for a 97-02 for my son and am wondering if there is any years/models/options etc that are more desireable, or should be avoided. Also any problem areas that I should be aware of and any items that i should be looking for when I'm inspecting these trucks.....

If you do a search you will find tons of different problems, plus tons of great fixes! I would just browse around abit and you will find lots of information.
