Max A/C on Startup with ETAC???

I did some searching without any luck, maybe someone here has the same issue as me. I have a 2005 Super Duty Lariat with electronic temp control and I like the automatic feature, however when I select recycled air it goes back to normal every time I restart the truck and I have to press the button again. Is there any way to get recycled air on startup in the auto mode??

I am back in Iraq so it will be a while before I can experiment with it some more, but the 2 weeks I was just home was the first time driving it. I must say I loved the truck! I bought it used with 18,000 miles and it's like brand new.

That would be a great feature, I hate that mine does that.

I don't know of a way to fix that, but I do have a hunch as to why it's designed that way. It may even speak of it in your owners manual, but I know that in my manual with the manual climate control, it recommends leaving the setting on any setting other than OFF or Max A/C, because those settings close off outside air. It suggests this so that the truck can "breathe" while it sits parked, and have fresh air flowing in/out. Perhaps on the trucks with the Auto climate control, it switches out of the recirculating mode when you shut it off for the same reason... to let the truck "breathe." It would be nice though if it would switch back to the recirculate, when you restart.

I would suspect they have a reason behind the design, it would also help for those that have had exhaust in the cab problems. My thing is that I always forget to put it back in recycle until I end up in traffic behind some old smoke bomb and it starts stinking up my new truck. Sounds like I might have to find a modification similar to the Tow/Haul mode on start up mod.
