Wow, get some new GP's and a GPR. she will start like brand new man.
i went and checked my cluster also. the needle went all the way over and and i got the code e 08 6. so my cluster is good. but now im in a even bigger pickle cuz i dont know what the heck to do now. i replaced the VSS a number of times and nothing. so i think im going to run 2 new wires to the VSS to where ever they go to. so now, lol can some one tell me where the 2 wires run to from the VSS.
Thanks
Mitch

GP's= Glow plugs
GPR= Glow plug relay
If you are going to replace them yourself then take a look at this link. pretty usefull info on how to change them and part numbers to order them.

Ok, I plugged in a Snap-On code reader last night and there were no trans codes. The only code I got was from the engine and it was a oil temp sensor code which i think is unrelated to my current problem. I got to thinking that maybe it was a 4x4L sensor problem and that the trans was stuck in a 4x4L shift pattern. Called a mechanic and he said that it couldn't be that. So now I am basically back to square one. I also found out last night that the t-case wont go all the way into 4x4L, at least according to the little plate on the side of the trans that dictates the 4x4 shifter. The pin that moves within that plate never makes it to the 4L position. Again, I can manually shift into 2nd but that it. I've gotta wait til next week to haul it into a shop because I won't have access to a truck that can haul mine til then. Any more ideas??

Goober, The EOT does have something to do with the trans. It tells the pcm when it's OK to shift into OD. I'm not sure that its you problem but it can't hurt to replace it anyway. BTW: EOT also advances the injector timing too when cold.
Take it to a tranny shop, they will scan it for free in most cases. Ask 1st. Remember, They want your biz.

Dang!
Well, took it to a shop and the fella said I need a new trans. He says that I have fwd and rev line pressure in OD. He said that it was "binding up". Does this sound right? I have had no trans problems and all of a sudden I'm binding up? The trans makes no noises and does not shudder. Just doesn't shift. He said that he would put a jasper is for $3,100 and jasper is all he uses in big trucks. I have heard that this guy is trustworthy and he seems to know his stuff. That said, I am going to get a second opinion before I spend the big bucks. Any help would be appreciated.
