BSW vs. OWL Tires

I pulled the trigger and ordered an '07 F-250 SD, Lariat Crew SB, 6.0L on x-plan. I could not find what I wanted on in stock and made an order to build what I wanted. I an issue with the order and need some advice.

I ordered the factory option Polished Forged 20" Aluminium Wheels (64T) which show on my order paperwork as no charge. The tires on the order are LT275 BSW A/T20 (T9T) for $1,245. I found out afterwards that the Ford web site shows the following when you Build and Price your Ford:

LT275/65Rx20E BSW All-Terrain Tires (Goodyear) (Spare is LT275/70Rx18E BSW All-Terrain) $0

-or-

LT275/65Rx20E OWL All-Terrain Tires - (Goodyear) (Spare is LT275/70Rx18E BSW All Terrain) $1,245

I asked my sales guy about this $1,245 discrepancy and he is saying the BSW tires are the only option with the 20" wheels and they are $1,245
and he doesn't know anything about the $0 BSW tires on the web site.

So my question is am I getting ripped here and what can I do about it? Am I paying for BSW tires when I should be getting OWL tires or should I be paying $0 for the BSW tires like the web site indicated? Finally, what is the difference between BSW and OWL?

Joe

I think it's one of those things, like ordering tow command requires an automatic transmission, or something like that.

ACE, I think you are right but something else has to be different for the extra $1,245 for OWL shown on the web site.

You are correct...in that the FORD website has both the 20" in the BSW and OWL...and being the OWL for $1245.00. With the BSW for $0. Seems like a good deal to me!

IMHO...I would go with your sales person and ask his manager. Plus print the page with the wheel prices and take with you to show them. Might help them understand better. I prefer the BSW with the 20" wheels myself...and would not pay $1245 just for the white lettering.

My guess is the website is wrong...but then again...never know with FORD these days what is a charge and what is free.

TIP: Go to kbb.com and price/build your truck. The price is $1245.00 there for either set.

I just found & bought a 07 Lariet High Line with the 20in wheels.
The tires are GoodYear A/T OWL no charge for the rims or tires...?
I'm fixin to post a message about my 20in wheels....not happy!

1. According to other posts, this truck was ordered X-Plan,so it won't matter. All options and prices will be itemizedand identified on the factory invoice.
2. I'm goingto caution using Ford's build and price as gospel- we just came across a $2800 error today, and I'm sure there are morewaiting to be discovered.

Istill want to know who ford's ITperson is.

I just ordered my 07 Lariat, what the hell is this X-plan?

I originally ordered 20" wheels but after research on this site I went back to 17" wheels so I would have more options when replacing original tires.

The Ford "build your truck" websight definitly did not give myself or my dealer a proper quote. He is telling me a couple grand more than the web site.

x-plan just relates to primadude. he posted in a different thread he's got X-Plan (Ford suppliers/partners), so the price is fixed and posted on the invoice. Doesn't matter what prices out where- it'll all be spelled out on his invoice.

How long after ordering a truck built until I can get a copy of the invoice from the dealer?

invoice happens when the truck is actually built and shipped (it's the billing from Ford to the dealer). They should have a CONCEPTS price confirmation already though when it was ordered.
