Don Johnson selling off cars
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Don Johnson is clearing out his garage.

Johnson is selling six vehicles from his stable of cars, including a silver Ferrari Testarossa he received from Enzo Ferrari in the 1980s when he was playing Sonny Crockett on the "Miami Vice" television series. Johnson drove a Ferrari on the show.

The actor, who turns 53 on Sunday, also is selling cars from his old "Nash Bridges" TV show -- including the yellow 1970 Plymouth Barracuda convertible -- and a 1949 Ford pickup truck he received from ex-wife Melanie Griffith.

"Over the years, I've enjoyed owning and driving these automobiles," Johnson said. "However, a combination of increasing demands on my time and a personal desire to streamline my life make it time to let others enjoy these beauties."

Johnson's cars are among the expected 800 vehicles on the block at next month's 32nd annual Barrett-Jackson Classic Car Auction in Scottsdale, Ariz. The auction, considered the nation's premier collector-car event, takes place Jan. 15-19 at the Westworld resort in Scottsdale.

"Don Johnson's television characters have long been associated with cars, so for Barrett-Jackson to offer vehicles from his personal collection is an exciting opportunity that we believe will get a great response at the auction," auction chief Craig Jackson said.

Some 180,000 people are expected to attend the event and more than 3,000 bidders are already registered, Jackson said.

I remember that silver Ferrari! I thought it looked very tough in the silver. I didn't know that it was his personal super car from Enzo

I will not be one of the 3000 bidders

Reading between the lines, he must be broke

5-6 years ago there was a big hoopla over a chair he had stolen. He had just bought it in Glenwood Springs and it was being shipped to his house in Aspen when somebody swiped it. It was in the paper several times, seems like there was even a reward offered for the chairs return etc. If I remember right, it was the crack Pitkin County Sheriffs Office that finally solved the caper a few weeks later, seems it fell out of the back of the truck. Oops.

While I am not disputing what Million said about the Ferrari being sold by don, the one used in the series (and blown up in the series) was actually a kit car....mounted on a Vette frame.

Can't remember where i learned it - but absolutely believe it to be true.

I don't suppose they will offer 5 years at 0% on any of those vehicles. Threshold warrenty, no 24 hour roadside help, and they probably won't offer free loaners.
