OKTOBERFEST (and beer)

OKTOBERFEST (and beer)
Okay, I'm gonna take a trip out to Fallon for Skipped-link's Mud Bog event on the 30th of October. Looking forward to seeing anyone who can make it out there.
Now me and the wife are going to start our weekend on Friday the 29th, and were considering whether we wanted to go straight out to Fallon for some exciting Fallon activities, or maybe hit something on the way for Octoberfest beer tasting.
We'll be in our travel trailer so we don't have to worry about me driving after a few too many.
Anybody have any ideas for Octoberfest celebrations in Northern Nevada? Maybe Reno, Carson, Autstin, Tahoe, Fallon?...... Gabbs ? Casinos, German Resaraunts etc?...

Yeah, I thought the missing tooth was appropriate. Haaa ha ha.
No offense intended to anyone that might be from Gabbs. I have a friend that was raised in Gabbs and they seem to have a good sense of humor regarding this sort of thing.
Thanks for the repy nlemerise. Those are good ideas. I forgot about Great Basin Brewery. Didn't know that they celebrated Octoberfest but it makes sense that they would.

Don't know that GB Brewery does celebrate Octoberfest...but they have plenty of different good beers and it is the place that I would want to celebrate Octoberfest at...here is my theory on Octoberfest:
"Better to be at a place WITH great beers that DOESN'T celebrate Octoberfest, than to be at a place WITHOUT great beers that DOES celebrate Octoberfest".
Oh yeah, there is a place in downtown Reno called "Bavarian World"...don't know about their beer though.

Hmmm, good theory, good thought.
However, one could always be in a place to celebrate Ocotberfest where great beer exsists (and Octoberfest is not formally celebrated) in umm, lets say, April. But one wouldn't have big boned blondes, dressed in those short German party outfits, brining them beer with a celebratory smile and dancing the chicken dance to Umpapa music, except during late September, into early October as happens at a place where they do celebrate Octoberfest.
It's just kind of a fun event that only happens once a year. I haven't been to one of those Octoberfest celebrations for alot of years. Being an October baby, I can dove tail the celebration in with my birfday.

It's been a year or so, there is a place in fallon that is one of those latte/coffee shop/ lounge type place that also had quite a selection of beers, they might have somthing of the octoberfest sort going on,
If not, you supply the blonds & I'll supply the beer,
We'll have our own October fest,

In light of WillyB's recent news, advising that he is showing up on Friday, I probably WILL be in Fallon for my Oktoberfest indugience. Soooo, I would say yup, Oktoberfest in Fallon it is. Now as far as the blondes, my wife's hair is light, but I would be willing to bet that if I told her of this plan, she would NOT bring us beer to drink, but beer to bath with. She'd even dump it over our heads for us. Probably not the German gal we'd hoped to serve us. Alot of pride that woman.
So, maybe we'll find something in Fallon, or maybe just put an ice chest close to the table.
Don't misunderstand, I'm not a hard core drinker, although I do enjoy my beer . I'm actually kind of a light weight by some standards.
