My God, what am I doing?

My God, what am I doing?
I just pretty much sealed the deal on a Suzuki Swift that I intend to intensely modify for Eurosport handling and appearance over time - to put my youngest stepson into....
It is the true version of the GEO METRO, but has one extra cylinder, bringing it up to 1300 cc.
It's gonna run like a raped ape, and have phenominal handling before I quit....
And I will kit it over to a plain jane geo grill, but with road lights.
That sucker will look and run AWESOMELY, and still get killer mileage (provided he don't wreck it). 40+ I figure, with no mods.
The GIFTS just seem to keep falling right out of the sky....

Not if I am in charge of the BUILD!!!
Besides, he is somewhere close to me now, and I can make it ALL happen.
If you think Mercedes engineers are kind of crazy - you just have not seen ME in full-bore action! I admit, I have not had the resources in the last few months, but it's actually beginning to come together here...
And also - I stand to make some money here, without ripping anyone off!
"Acquired Skills" are a wonderful thing.

Now I'm scared! I remember when my Dad helped me build my first hotrod. A 67 mustang coupe, built way too hot for a teenager. Good times those were. Got to do alot of bonding with him. Probably one of the best times of my life. I ended up having to get rid of it though, I street raced it too much. Great memories. My drivers liscence still hurts...

But I will suspect everything, and neglect NOTHING! Understand? I always believe whatever I get that low has problems.
LOTS OF THEM! But I know how to do it right...

But the flip side is, I am the Daddy here.... I told Mat straight up "DON'T YOU WRECK THE DANG THING! Because it WILL convince you that you can do things you should NOT."
If all goes well and he can afford the rims and tires - it WILL be glued to the road. But the question becomes "Will he take too much advantage of it?"
You can become (I guess) jaded when you drive something that seems to suck itself right down to the road. And then one day you find yourself in something ELSE altogether....
THAT can suck, but at least you learn the difference.
*DONO just might jump my bones in here, but that's alright - because he is an awesome and experienced guy and really knows his stuff!

The SWIFT is here, and it has a few more intrinsic bugs than I realised - but it's gonna come out just fine, I know it.
For one thing, the windshield washer switch was broken by the kid who owned it so right now it has the cleanest front window in town (stays on as long as the key is in it).
This will be fun, I'm still going to make it look like a two door Metro, so nobody will suspect there is an extra jug under the hood... I almost don't want to sell it to the youngest stepkid.
But then again - I spotted a Festiva parked in someones back yard that I just might grab for ME!
