Turlock Swap Meet

Is anybody planning on attending the Turlock Swap meet? It is this Sunday August 20th. I am trying to get a car ready to sell there. If I do, then maybe I will get to meet some folk from down that way. Jag

I think I'll head down...good way to get away from the wife and her gaggling friends that are coming over.

Is it Sat and Sun, or Sunday only?

The Cruisin News has it on Sunday only. I'm working on getting a car ready to go. If I don't sell it there then I guess we are going to Pleasanton next Saturday on the 26th. Jag

You refer to your wife and her friends as a gaggle? As in a gaggle of geese?

I presume she doesn't read this...?!

Well, ya know how it goes.

You have 4-6 females in one area, almost like being at a ballgame in regards to background noise.

Times like that I just have to split...being we're going to edge back up to high 90's this weekend, the shop will be too hot...may as well spend the time somewhere else.

Oh, yes, as a Gaggle of Geese, flock of Ewe;s, so on and so forth.

I know what you mean. I went out to dinner at a Chinese restaurant about a year and a half ago with a group (gaggle?) of females, about 6 as I recall.

My ears are still ringing...

Gaggle of geese...
I can relate for sure.
Hey, if any Nor Cal folks are interested, there is a Monster Truck and Motor Sport Spectacular going on in Reno Nev on August 26. It's at Boomtown on Hwy 88. One of the Nevada Chapter guys is working to get his transmission done so he can participate in the mud bog event there. hopefully he will have it ready to go by then. If so, it would be fun to chear on a fellow FTE'er there. I believe that Bdox from Tahoe is planning to go. I am trying to work it out where I can meet up with him at the event as well.
If anyone is interested, PM me and we can try to hook up some members out there in Reno.

Went there on Sunday. Arrived about 7am. Bought a very straight 48-50 F1 grill, an old Ford wrench for a buck, an old wooden spoked wheel with a tire for $5, a big *** old wrench for $5, hood spears for a 52 for $10 and a wooden gas pump.

Speaking of gas pumps.. there were lots of them fairly priced. You could get a decent one for $200. That's a big difference from last years prices, which were double, if not triple.

I'm thinking about going to the GG show this weekend, but the swap meet is usually the smallest out of the four shows. I don't feel like paying $13 to get in and $8 for parking only to find the same vendors all over and lots of commercial vendors. It'd be different if I were displaying my 52 Panel there.

I have to go to Napa, Stockton and Selma in the next few weeks. You're a bit out of the way. Just throw it away.

Yup, I know we're destined to get along, Mike! I've always felt that if you get rid of something, even if it's been sitting untouched for 20 years, you're sure to need it the day after you toss it.

Plus, I just like "stuff"...one man's junk is another man's treasure. And I've got a lot of treasure...!

I just looked at a piece of property yesterday. Fairly nice older mobile on 3.5 acres, 1000 sq. ft. shop and 2400 sq. ft. barn up on the hill away from prying eyes. Lots of room for my treasure. To celebrate I went out and bought another car this morning. If I actually buy the property, there'll be no holds barred...!

Uh oh...

You going to be Sanford and I am Son? Or vice-versa?

Good luck on the buy, When I bought this place (after living in the Bay Area for 20 years or so) my wife looked in the house, I went out back and thought "Hmmn, do you know how much stuff I can put back there?"

I just had a conversation with a guy a few minutes ago about a Honda 90 I bought from him last night, check my new thread for details...kind of fits the "I dont buy to sell it, or get rid of it later" theme.
