OD unit or ZF swap?

OD unit or ZF swap?
Hey guys,
My 1987 F250 6.9L T19 is just TOO SLOW for me... 2500RPMs at 60MPH kills me.... so here is my question
ZF or OD unit....
My T19 shifts great, but I have a ZF in my bronco and really find that tranny to be way less barbaric.... But in the end I am in for cost and time... so if the OD unit is cheaper and less time, then thats the way I want to go....
If I swap a ZF in place of my T19 I know I have to change the hydraulics over to internal slave stuff, but can I use a 6.9L clutch?? or are the PPs different for the 2 transmissions??
Thanks guys!!!
Bob

If your Bronco is still a gasser then the ZF5 from the gasser won't fit onto the back of the diesel motor. The diesel and gassers ZF5's have different bell housing that are integral to the tranny.
You got a pretty bullet proof drivetrain now so don't screw it up. The OD unit is the way to go. It will be more expensive but well worth the cost. The aftermarket OD units are typically pretty tough and generally won't be the weakest part of your drive train.
Don't get me wrong I think the ZF5 is a great tranny, I got one in my 93' and love it, but it won't hold a candle to old 4 speed when it comes to robustness.
I could have put an OD unit on my 84' back in 93' instead of selling it and getting the 93' and saved myself $25,000 buying a new truck.
