Questions about AOD swap and A/C brackets
I have a 1979 F150 with a 351M/C6. I want to swap in a 302 and an AOD and retain my factory A/C.
I will be using the 302 from my 1978 F150 that has a 3 speed manual with NO A/C. I want to use an AOD from a 1992 T-bird with a 5.0 HO. Through searching this forum I learned that my '92 5.0 HO is 50 oz and my '78 302 is 28 oz.
What application would I need a flexplate from to connect my '78 302 to a '92 AOD?
My 351M has A/C, but my 302 does not. I'm guessing the 351M A/C brackets won't work? Does anyone have pics of the 302 A/C brackets... preferably mounted on the engine without a compressor? I would know what to look for then.
Here is a pic of my 302 brackets. This was taken the day I bought the truck... it's been cleaned up a lot since then. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f2...2-05-06031.jpg

I just ran outside and took this. It's a crappy phone pic, but you can see the bracket without the compressor.

BTW, I'm also interested in this AOD swap. I've been reading up on it for a while and it seems pretty straight forward.

Thanks for the pics! The brackets look a lot like the ones on my 351M... it would be cool if they swap over, otherwise I'll have to find some for my 302.
Right now my '79 has a 351M/C6 with 2.75 gears and gets about 12 mpg, so I rarely drive it. My '78 has a 302 with a 3 speed manual and 3.00 gears and gets 18 mpg. I'm hoping to swap the 302 into my '79 and use my AOD from the T-bird and swap in some 4.10 gears and still get 18+ mpg. With the 4.10 gears it should accelerate fairly good, and the OD will put my rpm's at about 2200@70 mph. That's the plan...
