important clutch question

I'm having my clutch replaced and flywheel resurfaced. My mechanic has told me that he will either have to pull my engine , or pull the floorboards in my cab (which he says are rusted and rivited shut).

1953 f100. 239 ci originial 3 speed tranny

is there an easier way? please advise

That makes sense, other wise it was time to look for another mechanic.
