4" rear axle block kit for 2004 F250

Does anybody make a kit or have a parts list of what it would take to put the 4"? F350 rear axle blocks on my 2004 F250 crew cab 4x4 short bed 156.2" short wheel base? My truck sits nearly level, and when I tow or haul something in the bed, it sits too low in the rear. The blocks and u-bolts are not too much trouble getting, but I am confused on whether or not I need a spacer for the drive shaft carrier bearing. I am also confused on whether I need tapered blocks and or tapered shim. Thank you. Philip.

You will need the 4" blocks, a 1/4 inch shim, a new carrier bearing mount, U bolts, and longer shocks (optional). The dealership up here had a set of 350 rear shocks (they are about 1.5" longer) from a unit they had put a lift kit on so I got mine real cheap. Go to my gallery and I have a couple of pics of the shim I made to align the driveshaft. You will also see the new lower carrier bearing mount. All the required parts are fairly inexpensive and if you're on a budget could be got at an autowreckers. You will need to remove your blocks and shocks and install the replacements. Next remove your carrrier bearing mount and replace with the mount from a 350 with the added shim. I purchased some grade 8 bolts that were 1/4" longer, but the factory ones would be just long enough. Use thread lock. If you don't have a way to make a shim Ford has a kit for doing this. It is not a difficult conversion. You need the non-tapered blocks with the crewcab and you will need a shim. I made two shims 1/8" and 1/4" so I could fine tune it, but with mine 1/4" was on the nose. I believe the Ford shim kit comes with three shims. When you get your blocks and carrier bearing mount they are model specific. ie: crewcab with 156" wheelbase.

Went out and checked and I still had the box from one of the axle blocks. The part number was F81Z-5598-DA for the 4" blocks for a 4wd crewcab with the short box. The left and right are the same as they aren't tapered like the ones on the supercab.
