Explorer '06 XLT auxiliary audio input - where?
#1
#3
I will be doing the same thing in the near future. You do not say what audio option you have now. You have one of the following three: 1) CD only, 2) CD/Cassette combo, or 3) the Audiophile system. It also matters whether you have a DVD system. I have not fully investigated everything yet but it appears to me at this point that options 1 and 2 will have the same solution. What really matters is whether you have #3 and/or a DVD player.
What audio options do you have? I suspect that you have #1 or #2 and when you push the Aux button the display states: "No Aux device available".
What do you want to connect to your Aux input? I will be connecting an XM Radio.
I will let you know when I know the exact answer myself (maybe this coming weekend) but I am pretty sure the most convenient place to connect will be in the passenger kickpanel - most likely C214, maybe C3290 depending on what harness is actually installed.
