1. Year - 2008
2. Cab configuration - crew
3. Current mileage on the odometer - 5,600
4. Auto or stick - torqshift auto
5. 2WD or 4WD - 4x4
6. Rear gears - 4.30
7. Tire size- 34 (275/65/20)
8. Cap or no (if a P/U) - no
9. Any aftermarket accessory that has had an effect on your mileage if it is far off the forum's average. - no mods
10. Weight, size and configuration of trailer. Fifth wheel, load-leveler, etc, and how much the trailer weighs approximately. - 5k or so with fuel and gear, bumper pull w/20' boat.

I average about 10 mpg on a 400 mile trip. Almost all highway travel at 70 mph. Passing slow traffic is almost as easy as if the truck wasn't loaded. (except for the 26' total length and 8' width)

So many variables to consider. We are around 21K truck and 5th wheel. we have seen 6MPG we have seen 11 mpg. 8 to 8.5 is a good average. We are hooking up now for a @100 miles trip Westbound on the Ohio TPK. It is in the mid 80's low humidity, no wind. We have done this trip before and I would expect to see @ 9 maybe 9.5MPG. fairly level road at the speed limit. MPG is a fleeting figure..

Our latest towing mileage after slowing down to 55 & 58 form 60 & 65 was 8.92 over 10700 mile trip (Alaska and Canada). Before it was in the low 8s.

2000 F350, V10, 4.30. I have slowed down to 55 and 58. I came back from Colorado through southern NM mountains (Ruidoso) and the worst tank was 7.85 into a howling wind. The best was 9.25. I averaged a bit over 8.3 and my CAT scale ticket says 21345 total for a 36 ft. fifth wheel and I did have to go to 4,000 rpms on a few hills and passes.

2008 F350 cc longbed 4:30 gears, 275-65-20 tires. Currently there is 15,550 miles on the truck.and I have added a Magnaflow single in dual out muffler. Truck weight 9520lbs., trailer 2003 Sunline 267SR weighs in at 7200-7500 depending on how much stuff wife brings, total weight of 17,020 lbs. I like to keep up with traffic so my gas mileage might be worse than some with similar weight, but I average between 8 and 8.5.

Milage Comparisons

1. Year - 2000 F-250 longbox Superduty
2. Cab configuration -Supercab
3. Current mileage on the odometer - 44,500
4. Auto or stick - 5 speed Manual
5. 2WD or 4WD - 4x4
6. Rear gears - 3.73

10. Weight, size and configuration of trailer. - Loaded Slide in Camper approximately 3,300 lbs.

The combination averages 12.5 mpg on long trips. Almost all highway travel at 55 mph. I use speed control most of the time except in hilly terrain. I don't pass traffic unless they happen to be going slower than me. The truck is basically never on the road without the Camper.
HAPPY TRAILS.

1. 2001

4. Auto
5. 2WD
6. 3.73:1 w/LSD
7. Stock (load range E)
8. Excursion
9. Stock
10. Tag-along cargo trailer, approximately 7,000 lb.

We tow a lot of different trailers, that trip was the worst, on a trip from GA to CO. It was actually worse still crossing Kansas with a viscous head/cross wind. In fact, that day I passed another Excursion towing a large travel trailer. It seemed like he had all he could do to hang onto it.
