1968 or 1978 F-350 CrewCab

Does this truck exist? I currently have a 1978 Bronco and a 1996 F-250. I would like to rebuild a 1968 1-ton crewcab (the year I was born) or a 1978 1-ton crewcab (same front end as my Bronco). I'm beginning to believe that Ford didn't make a crewcab this early because I can't find pictures of any. I'll definitely settle for a Supercab if need be. Of course, I could always cut a frame and fabricate a Crewcab. I want to drop a new PowerStroke into my rebuild Crewcab.

Yes this truck does exist. There is a picture of a sweet '78 crew cab at the bottom of the home page of this web site. I'm trying to find one right now too. I don't know what years exactly that they made them but they did. They are a pain to find. Good Luck.

I am sure 78's exist as there is one in my driveway. 1978 1 ton crewcab 2 wheel drive 300 6cyl 4 speed.
As well there are 68's too but probably alot harder to find, due to their age.

I have a friend with a 78 or 79 crew cab Triple Nickel Cat V8 Disle. I know the truck sit's never really driven being they put a 500+ HP V8 semi truck eingin in it. He finaly stopped looking for a front axel that would hold the weight. If you are in or near No. CA I will see if he want's to sell.

Hi, You might want to try Hemmings Motor News. Especially if you are looking for a truck you don't see very often. It's a great magazine for finding parts also. http://www.hemmings.com Hope this helps.

Green I have a 72 F250 2wd setting in my driveway and I am told that they made them as early as 68 but I don't know about the F350's I would guess so but not positive. My pickup was originally a Nat. Forest Srvc. green color or a railroad green but is now white.

'68 crew cabs do exist. I know of two in my area - an F-250 and an F-350 dually. Both 2wd. Nice looking trucks.

Sorry about the late response, I'm not much of a "surfer." Thanks for the advice. I'm still looking for that PERFECT buy. I know it's out there somewhere. Also, just became a FTE member. I'm sure that I'll enjoy!

You may have seen my earlier posts about this same thing.

I am probably buying the one pictured below this weekend.

Maybe we can share some ideas as we get deeper into this thing.

Several years ago I saw a clean '68 Merc 350 srw crewcab go into the flattener at the local scrapyard.

Here is what Ford had to say on the subject back then:

Note: The crew cabs were apparently not available with 4wd.

Even if you can't find a 68 crewcab, I would definitely plan on getting a 68 car or truck of some kind. I bought my 69 in part because it is the year I was born, and it's a cool feeling! I also understand why it's a little slow to start in the morning sometimes.

Either way, good luck!
