Question CCV Mod?

Thinking about doing the CCV mod, and was wondering if it was practicle to tie the end of the hose into the exhaust pipe near the outlet.
Will it make a mess, too much back pressure?.
All constructive input appreciated.

Do it right and there won't be backpressure. Do it wrong and there will be.

The right way.

To be sure, you could use a back fire check valve.

Also put that far down the exhaust pipe, not close to the engine.

I stuck mine on the hump above the axel. The way I checked it was that I know there is smoke coming out of the tube. OK. Stuck it in and the exhaust becomes slightly cloudy. Also there are no leaks in the oil pan like when I got the orientation of the pipe in the exhaust wrong. Also when I used a valve like the moroso unit, I was always getting the impression it placed a slight restriction on the tube.

It works perfectly if you get it close to the tailpipe. At the hump is fine. Here's mine.

Hey Strokin, you going 5" or 6"?

Musthunt- be sure you grind a 45 on the end of the tube that goes in the exhaust. Then have the tube welded into the exhaust pipe at a 45 degree angle.

fat diesel and rampage, or any one else that ran there ccv into the exhaust. It looks as if you used brass or copper pipe, was this to disapate heat fast enough so it would not reach the hose? I am planning on running my ccv into the exhaust in the future and was thinking about the heat and if it would be enough to melt the hose.

I used black pipe. It was the same thing as if you go to Home Depot and get pipe they use for gas. Cut the angle and had it welded in. The neat thing was that the 3/4 hose would slip in and the threads will hold it with a clamp

Yep. To keep the end of the hose a little cooler.

No oil in build up in the intake. Putting it in the exhaust eliminates everyone asking why your truck is smoking from wherever you dead end the hose. I haven't been able to find a great way to cross the hose over to the other side of the truck underneath. My exhaust exits in front of the rear tire.
