what years will go with a '72
70-72 are nearly identical in pretty much every respect. The only major difference I'm aware of is the grille.
67-72 are also very similar, though the trim on the 67-69 is different from that on the 70-72, and there are some body differences (the 67-69 styleside bed is slightly different from the 70-72, for instance).
Powertrains are essentially identical from 67-76. The 240 and 300 cid six were available, along with the FE big blocks in 352 (67 only), 360 (68-76) and 390 cid. The 302 small block was available beginning in 69.
Many other mechanical components carried over through 1979.
Thus, depending on what you're looking for, you're most likely to find it on a 70-72, but you may find it as far back as 67 and as recent as 79.
