Aod rebuild

I'm looking to have a 1986 f-150 aod rebuilt to put in my '79 ford project truck. I am wondering what i should have done to the tranny to improve the reliablity of it. I want to put a shift kit put in it but what else should i have done to it when it is rebuilt?

you can have a trans shop update the planetery set to the wide ratio you can use a wide reverse drum witsh allows the use of the wider od band and also use a trans go shift kit.this is just my personal opinion.
