Why in the world would you need to use the 4 wheel drive on a dry, paved surface anyways....much less at 60mph?!?!

The only time I use my 4WD, is when I'm stuck while in 2WD, or if I know I wont be able to make it in 2WD....all of which are off-road only, unless there is snow on the ground.

I wouldn't use 4x4 unless you need it. I switch mine on every once in a while to keep things moving, so it'll work when I need it to. If you need 4x4, you shouldn't be going over 100 km/hr in the first place. You CAN, but it's not recommended going much over 40 or 50 mph with 4wd on. Turning is ok with 4x4, just no tight turns like turning into a parking space. Turning on a windy road is fine. But as was said before, to work properly, the tires need to break traction in 4x4, and if they don't, the driveline will be fighting itself, and eventually something in the driveline will break. So switch it on at a low speed on a straight road every once in a while, but only use it for an extended period when 2wd will not handle it.
