1953 F100 New price

Anyone know what the price was for a new F100 back in 1953?

Of course make mine with V8 power brakes, power steering, A/C cruise control, power window front discs, and automatic. Did they have cd changers back then?

My grandfather paid $1,640 for my '54 F-100 with V-8. I have the bill of sale. He traded in a 1947 Ford pickup and they gave him exactly $640 for it, so he ended paying $1000 cash plus sales tax and registration.

I wonder how $1,640 compares in today's dollars to the price of a new F-150...

Just found a website that answered my own question. Assuming your grandfather bought the '54 new in 1953...

$1,640 in 1953 = $11,414 in 2005

Would $11,414 have bought a new '05 F-150?

My 05' F-150 was more like $25K+ added the 6 year 100k warranty, and it was almost 30K.

heh, go figure. Inflation or hype?! Sure does drive nice though.

I would be very interest to know what was listed on the bill of sale in 1954, I'm creating my owe monroney window sticker for my 1953, it won't be original but will be nice to have. If you have the time please send to jtminor@outlook.com.

I have a almost perfect frame -off restoration 1953 F100 pickup.

Much appreciated. Jim Minor Wisconsin area

I am not sure if you meant the bill of sale for my 54 or the other guy. But here is mine. My Grandpa bought it in December of 54. It came with a V-8, a heater, and electric wipers. I might be able to find a ford publication I have that lists the cost of added options.
