Think of the V10 like the triton V8 5.4 but with two extra cylinders which gives the V10 more displacement than the 5.4.

We get the the best of both worlds= more torque and more horsepower because the two cylinders displace more than the 8 cylinders but both the engines have the same bore x stroke (3.55 x 4.16) and that's why our V10's can do what the v8 does and do it with more torque and horsepower and also, rev higher than the older truck engines use to.
Now look at the displacement of that viper v10 in a ram SRT10 and see the added difference in its BORE x STROKE and it will explain why that V10 displaces more power than the triton V10.

505(8277)displacement-8.3 liters 500hp/500ft.lb compared to 6.8 liters415 displacement we have.
One note :that ram viper is not built for serious towing its more directed for performance..

The srt10 ram has a bore X stroke of 4.03 x 3.96
triton v10 has a bore X stroke of 3.55 x 4.16

In this example it shows that:
the bore for the viper srt10 is more favoring for the horsepower side than torque side in this formula.
The triton v10 is more favoring for torque side than horsepower side in this formula.

Both engines can do a great balacing act for both torque and horspower but both engines favor either the stroke or bore moreso than the other because they are designed for a different work areas in the rpm range.
