went to a yard sale the other day an I bought a ignition tester is made by snap on.
it seems like you hook your ingnition coil up to it to check your coilit makes a sprark jump a gap you adjust the gap and see how much gap you get before it stops,anyone know of this tool not sure how to use it?

You might want to catch the Snap On truck in your area those guys will have all the info on your tester (directions,spare parts,etc)

In general terms, the higher the voltage the greater the gap it will jump. This voltage/distance ratio also varies with altitude and humidity level.

Hey soso that tool is part #SGT1 used for checking no start conditions. It measures kv in dis, electronic and standard igntion.
Sells for about $20.00.Can also ck coil out put.I am the local snapon tool dealer.

I have it as part # mt-430,it is old, there is a stisker in side that says it was serviced in 1975,

If that is the tool I am thinking it is you will not want to touch it while the engine is running.
