Timing; Gear Vs. Chain
#17
The gear drive is worth the sound. I bought a cheapo off of ebay for like $50 new and I take it to 6000 all of the time with no problems at all. The sound does take a little bit to get used to and if you have whiney neighbors, well get it anyway. Roller chains are for guys who like the whole stock=better idea.

I loved my pete jackson gear in my 76 cobra. it was a daily driver till i warped the car.
the sound was never mistaked for PS problems on that car. instead people asked what type of blower i had. to which I replied...try me. not many took me up on that offer.
I still have that engine and the whole car as a matter of fact, just using it to experiment with now with welding, painting and what not.
I am looking into possibly putting gears in my 65 f100 when i rebuild it.
