Bronco tank came in today!!

so i am going to do the bronco tank mod which replces my rear tank with a bronco tank which hold what both of my current tanks hold all together! that thing is huge!!! won't be able to make the swap till next week though. also have to do rear spring hangers and since i will be there i may put urethane bushings in the springs.

i am planning on doing a write up for both mods so i will keep you all posted!

i have heard ppl doing this and i know i need to search but asking here just seems so much easier

did you have to get a sending unit/in-tank pump for a bronco? or can you use your stock one?

i'm seriously thinking of going this route!

Planning on submitting them as FTE articles? Do them in a MSWord or PDF format if you do. Get yourself some free FTE stuff

ok here is the cliff note version of the mod as the full right up will be coming up when i finish (actually i need to start first. acquiring parts now)

replace the rear tank with a tank from a bronco 93 or newer. this tank will hold 33 gallons and costs the same as the pickup tank. the spare tire must be moved to the bed since the tank takes up the room of the tire and the old tank. the deeper tank requires the fuel pickup and level sender be modified. also different provisions must be made for tank straps but not that big of a deal. the filler neck is also bigger so some adaptation must be made for that. at the same time i will make the filler neck a high flow neck so that i can fill it faster.

well there that is the very short version. later this week i hope to do this swap after i replace the rusted out rear spring hangers. i will be taking lots of pics and writing an atricle for the process and parts.

well thats all for now i will be back with more in a week or so!
