I work for a goodyear dealer and own a set of mt/r's so personally I would say the goodyears. I have never heard of dick capecks's, and I can imagine mickey thompsons wouldnt be cheap, so bfg might be second, IMO.

I like the BFG Long Trail T/A's myself. Unless you go off road alot, I would suggest these.

Go BFG KOs or Pro-Comps. MTRs I have found are extremely loud with road noise!

Wal Maart sells a "Continental" tire that says 80,000 miles where the GY and Uniroyal are 50,000. Price on the Uniroyal is ver cheap, price of the Continental is comparable to the BFG L/T. Anyone tried the Continentals with good luck??

BFG A/T's good on and offroad. Something you might want to check out, just cool new tire...

sweeeeeeet tire. I love it, when my BFG's finally wear out I'd like to get those. It's the new generation of the Kumho Venture MT tire.

I had a set of Continental tires that would never balance, I wouldn't recommend them. I put them on my trailer and bought another set of new tires for my truck. The workers at Continental are getting a pay cut from an average of ~$22/hr down to about ~$13/hr... so don't expect "high quality work" from them.

I had 30k miles on my truck when I bought it. It had BFG Longtrails and two of the 4 were completely out of round. The other two were worn but still in good shape. This may be a case of no-rotation but it made me skiddish of the Longtrails. I am running 265/70/17 Goodyear Wrangler RTS and am very happy with them.
