Dual Tank Switch
On my '78 F-250 4X4 acts really wierd. I think that the selection valve in front of the rear tank may not be operating properly, but there might be other problems as well.
Question: Which tank is the 'Main' tank, and which tank is the 'auxillary' tank. On my '83 F-150, the main is the rear, and the aux is the front. From what I can gather with my irratic gas guage readings, is that it's just the opposite for the '78. Is this true?
Once I know the correct way it's supposed to be, I can start troubleshooting and try to get it to operate correctly.
Thanks,
Jeff

Thanks for the reply. That's the sequence that I thought it was.
Now, searching my memory banks when I replaced the floats on the sending units, I recall that the Main tank (front) is plastic, and the aux tank is metal. I'm unaware of any platic replacement aux tanks, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. If anyone knows, it's the knowledgeable folks on this site.
