I had a 97 ford ranger xlt 4.0 v6 and it was great never any problems and more then enough power for driving back and forth to work and every now and the doing a little playing in mud and off roading. Last year I bought a 2004 F250 with the 6.0 powerstroke diesel which I love as well. If Ford every put a diesel in the ranger you can bet I'm going to buy one.
