Eric, if you have a system or not think about having it professionally installed. Most places will do it for around $100 and if the place has been around awhile you might get a lifetime warranty on the installation. I have a very nice system in my 77 and it was worth the money not to fool around with the wiring. Its not that I can't do it myself, I'm an electrical technician, but they have all the tools and componants for a very clean installation. Just my 2 cents.

Allen, It is not hard at all. http://www.crutchfield.com has an online catolog and excellent prices. You can purchase a unit and the proper size speakers from them. They should be able to send you all of the pieces needed, including wireing connections.
In case you cant get that, there is a black, red, yellow, (ground, hot & memory) wire that has to be connected and you are home free.
I had to replace driver door speakers in both of my Turaus and they have Ford factory connectors on the speakers, and Crutchfields has the connectors for the car's harness.
Good luck getting tunes,
John

I bought some 6 1/2" speakers for my '75 and Crutchfield sent me adapters to plug them in to the factory wiring. I didnt use it, but it was nice of them. They also include a sheet that tells you how to do it. Putting a CD player in your truck is going to take some custom work, since it was designed for the shaft style radios. What I did was cut off the two tabs that stick out for the shafts to go thru, then reassemble the dash, and stick in the basket for the CD player. They usually have little tabs all over them, and you bend them over anything you can to get it hooked in.
