New shackle to leaf spring off center.

I just replaced my 2000 Rangers shackle and bracket. When I lower the frame to connect shackle to spring, the spring needs to move towards opposite side of the truck about 3/4". Would this be as simple as loosing the axle u-bolts to line up? Thanks and hope this makes sense.

Sounds like they may have given you the wrong shackle, have replaced many of those and the springs always went right in.

I just checked and Dormant pn. 722-001 is the correct shackle. I pulled the spring over with a pipe clamp and got the bolt in. I still don't like all that tension on the spring though. I had to put the bolt in the wrong direction because the trailer hitch and bumper bracket is in the road. I'm probably going to take it all apart after Christmas and start over.
