i relocated my sky brackets yesterday. i started with about 0* shackle angle, now i prob have about 45*. i realize that's too much, but how bad is that? i'll try to get pics later today.
If its leaning away from the spring that angle could be a problem if you drop the axle too far. It might let the shackle get on top of the spring when the weight gets back on it. It will also put a lot of stress on the spring and shackle because of that angle.
If its 45* leaning to the spring that is better, but still might be a little to for. I always set my shackle angles depending on the amount of spring travel and arc of the spring, but usually around 30* has worked pretty good for me for a lifted spring. For a flat spring of a very heavy rate spring I'll put it at 10* or 0*
its 45* like \ it seems to be too much, but i haven't tested it yet. its on a 97 f250hd with stock rear springs. i'd have to go measure, but i'd say i moved the shackle eye forward about 3 inches.
i have tried 45-50, about 10, and right now i have it about 25
i liek the 25 the best...the 45-50 gave me more axle wrap....but a softer ride and better flex....the 10 rode stiff, had much less axle wrap, but lacked droop, so the 25 im ruinning now is a good tradeoff
