How many CCA's (Cold Cranking Amps) should your battery be rated at? I have a problem with an E350 PSD not staarting in the morning. It will run all day long start and stop, starts up just fine but let her sit over night and she cranks fine (a little slow) but wont start. Have to use a battery charger.

I noticed that one battery is an 850 CCA battery but the other is only 600CCA. Does that make a difference? What should I be using? 2 800's two 850's? This is in an ambulance, so it has the beast alternator and so on. It also has battery disconects mounted on the drivers seat base, and they are turned off every night.

If your batterys are turned off every night than that elimenates the vechicle from the problem. your batteries should be of the same cca and they should be replaced together one weak battery will drain down a good battery I always use 1000 cca batterys in my PSD and i also have the 200 amp alt!!!

The stock batteries were 1000CA and 800CCA, the 600CCA in yours is probably pulling the big one down some. First thing in the morning the glow plugs are pulling a huge load on the batteries...probably have a weak one. I would speculate that a pair of new 850's will do the trick.

Seems to have been a weak battery. I swapped out that battery with another that is almost brand new and starts fine every morning now. That new battery is an 800 CA and 600CCA. But that is the battery recomended by Ford. Its a slim battery designed for the E350 to fit just infront of the blower motor. Part# BXL 50. But now it seems the starter is going bad. Just my luck. Makes a bad grinding noise when starting sometimes.
