Question Steering Wheel Radio Controls

Ok I first thought I was pushing the wrong buttons but I wasn't. Ocassionally when I would push the volume control on the steering wheel it would change the radio function from AM to FM or CD to AM. I would then push the Band/Memory Control and and they would work fine. I bought to the dealer and got the could not duplicate. Has anyone else have this problem.

My only guess if the buttons are working fine is the the clock spring bahine the airbag. Also no one int he back seat is messing with you are they?

Mine has done this a few times. After a couple solid punches to the steering wheel, it straitens up and acts right! And no, I'm not kidding. It seems like there is something loose in there.

No there is no one in the back seat at the time. I have a friend that works for a L & M dealership. I asked him if he has heard anything about this problem and he said that there have been about a half dozen Aviators and Navigators that they have had to order the swiches for the radio control.

Must be the same switch they put in the Focus, because mine acted up a lot until I put in an aftermarket HU, negating the use of the steering wheel controls.

"Cannot duplicate" I have seen that BS phrase a lot lately IRT service departments...
Just because the tech in the back cannot duplicate a problem does not mean that it does not exist. I would make them come out and show you what they did to try to duplicate the problem, then I would show them myself until they get the point. If it's a legitimate problem with your vehicle, don't settle for being sent home with a broken $30+K vehicle. The service department isn't making your payments, so shouldn't get that much say in whether you have to live with something or not!

Rant over!!!

Jon let me no how you make out if thats the fix let me know I have you order the swicths and have your place install them. The dealers I have taken it to both could not duplicate the problem.

finally had the switches installed about a week ago. fixed the radio problems, but still no cruise. had the tech run tests, and they said bad cc deactivation switch...showing "on" all the time, so cruise wont engage. had switch installed, still no cc.
