Neutral/Park Safety Switch wiring, F-1
My 1950 F-1, 302/C4 has a B&M Pro-Ratchet shifter. I discovered that the neutral/park safety switch, Reverse/backup light switch has never been wired. I am am weak on wiring. Need advice on how to wire the neutral/park safety switch. ...secondarily the reverse switch. B&M instructions deal with cars already wired which my F-1 is not.

Bill,
The following is based on a guess that since you have a 302, that you have already converted to a 12 volt postitive ground system.
Typically, the nuetral safety switch is installed "in line" or "in series" on the power wire from the ignition switch "start" to the input of the starter solenoid. Hopefully, the shifter comes with enough information to figure out what wires to splice into that circuit.
The back-up light circuit is typically a simple switch that is used to send power to the back-up lights when the shifter is in reverse. If you don't have back-up lights yet, one side of the switch will go to power and one side will go to your new b/u lamps.
Good Luck!

Bill,
I just re-read what I wrote a couple of days ago. My assumption should have said for a 12 volt negative ground system. Sorry about that.
The N/S switch and back-up switch should be fairly straight forward. I think you can get installation instructions at www.bmracing.com
Good Luck!
