Back Glass Wheather Strip 99 F1
Hi All. Great forum. This is my first post.
I have a 99 F150 Extended Cab, Flareside with the sliding back window option. I have just noticed that the weather strip around the back glass has deteriorated and now water is leaking into the cab. I spoke with a parts supplier about this and I am being told that the weather strip comes attached to the glass and cant be bought seperately. That's an expensive replacement especially since the glass is fine. Does anyone have any experience with this. Do I have any other options?

I pulled my slider on my 97 flareside to replace the fadded surround and add some tint. Just pull it all out and reseal the window with some black silicone. Be carefull pushing the window out, have read that it will break if your to aggressive and can see why while doing it. You have to kind of push gently and cut with sealing gunk with a blade at the same time, working your way around. And have a helper on the outside to hold the window as it comes loose. You'll also need a new gasket for the surround, which is probally what you see as deteriorated. This is not the actual window seal, just for the surround.

You can buy a roll of at advance for around $12 or $15 bucks. You have to remove the back seat n all the trim to get to the nuts (2 sets, one on the glass n one on the trim peice). And while you have it off, you should paint it to match your truck, makes a huge difference in the look.
