spark plugs

I went to Strauss the other day to get some plugs for my tune up, and they gave me six plugs with the numbers AGSF22FM. My repair manual lists my replacement plugs as AWSF32PP. I have a 2000 3.0L V6. Are these the correct plugs? If so, why are the part numbers different?

The manual lists Platium and what they sold you is not platium They cost a little more but I would go back with The Motorcraft Platium.

The box (as well as the plugs themselves) both read platinum.

Those might be a slightly colder plug as well...which isn't necessarily a bad thing with a 3.0L.

those are the wrong plugs. the autolite plug number is AP103 which is identical to the MC.

They gave you plugs for the FFV 3.0L. It sounds like yours is a NON FFV 3.0L.

The "FM"series plugs are the newer platinum design plugs from Motorcraft which are replacing the "PP" series.

According to the 2000 Ranger owner's manual that I downloaded, only the FFV 3.0L was available in 2000. So, the AGSF22FM is the correct plug. As Rockledge has stated the FM is for "fine wire", the latest platinum plug from Motorcraft. The AWSF32PP plug is called out for the 2.5L 4 cylinder.

FFV stands for "Flex Fuel Vehicle", and can run E85 fuel.

Thanks for the memory refresher Joe, and Happy New Year!!!

I'm still running the AGSF12FMF6's without a problem in my 1999 3.0L FFV.
