i am thinking about putting in a manual tranny in my truck. i am swapping a 460 that has a c6 in place of a 302 with a c4...neither truck had a manual tranny. i know these trucks didn't have a hydraulic clutches in them back then (70's)...but how hard would it be to put one in? I don't have a transmission yet (wanting to get an np435), could i use the same bellhousing in this truck...or would this be too hard. would it be easier if i get a transmission out of a 90's ford and use the clutch and the hydraulics out of it? help me out guys...i know somebody's tried this.

the np 435 i beleive came with a hydraulic clutch around 86 or so before it was removed from the line up.

 

get the dual pedal set up also , and it doesnt have to be for a hydo clutch , one for a regular clutch would work because all you need it for is to push the push rod. In other words , a swing pedal set up out of the same year as your truck will work fine,bob

 

and you can manufactor a bracket for the slave fairly easily ,bob

 

ok, thanks for the help...hey ford390gashog...what size motors did the np435 in 86? i know where a bunch of 80's ford trucks in a junk yard...if it's a 4wd, can i take the transfer case off of it...or are they married?
