Would like to convert my 86 F-350 4x4 6.9Diesel to manual using a NP435.have everything figured out except clutch.Ihave aluminum bellhousing ,flywheel and clutch from another 86 but I want to use mechanical clutch linkage instead of hydraulic.I have all the clutch pedal brackets and linkage out of an 80 f-350 and made my own equalizer bracket.Did Ford ever put an iron 6.9 bellhousing with mechanical setup on any truck?my book said 83 could have a 12 clutch.The clutch fork from a hydraulic does not have leverage to be used mechanically and that is the problem.

 

In early 83 Ford did make a non hydraulic clutch. Though it is very rare and hard to find.

you may want to look into parts from IH trucks since that engine is theirs origionally.good luck PHIL
