Dana 60 8 lug full floater disc brake conversion.
I routinely carry a camper and pull a ski boat with my '79 Super Cab. Stopping is obviously paramount but in reality is not great. I am looking for a rear disc brake conversion for the Dana 60 8 lug full floater. One that includes built in parking brake.
All help appreciated.

I read a article where you could use GM front rotors off mid 70's 4x4 and Cadilac eldorado rear calipers with parking brake. You would just have to fabricate a steel plate to mount the calipers too. I did a search on the web on 8 lug disc conversions. This article was used on a dana 60 in a dodge application but should work with the ford. Good luck in your searches

Dana 60 8 lug full floater disc brake conversion.
has any body found a shopping list that doesnt involve GM parts?? I have found a few hints of parts needed for the swapt, and even read an article in a magazine about 3-4 months ago that listed a vendor who sells kits even, but I procrastinated and lost out on that info. Can anyone come forward with this elusive info?? I am begining to think this swap is along the lines of putting a c***y 350 into a Ford!

Use Goggle and search on Dana 60 Disc Brake conversion. You will get lots of hits, read several and choose the one to your liking. More have to do with the 5 lug Dana 60. I am unaware of ANY full floater set-ups that use a a parking brake like you want. You MIGHT be able to redrill a 5 lug rotor, no on second thought I'm almost positive you can't do that, the rotor would never fit over the hub.
I don't beleive you can get where you want to go from here.
