98 F150 XLT AC won't get cold Heat won't get hot

Hey folks, first Thanks for the IAC valve suggestions..it worked! Now one that I have been "living" with but now that it's winter and 18 degrees out it seems to be a bigger problem. It started pretty suddenly or I didn't notice is but when I did the Heater / defrost wasn't getting hot or even warm, and the ac wasn't cold but cool. The temp control switch on the dash feels funny like it's stuck in the midrange position. It turns to either direction hot or cold but feels funny. Could this switch simply be the problem? If so how do I remove and replace it. Any help is appreciated.

WOW it was the ****...I certainly don't live up to my name..I had pulled it several times and didn't look for a crack...moved the switch manually and voila! Now I just need a new **** and my baby is in tip top shape, and I'll stay warm. Thanks this site is awesome!
