Is It A Better Mousetrap?

Hey guys,

I got this link from another forum, where there was little discussion on it. I searched around and did some research, and it seems that it could be a much better cint supercharger that what is available right now. Of course, its a little on the high price side for me, and everything would have to be custom built. But its still much less than most supercharger "kits".

So tell me what you guys think. Could this possible outperform other superchargers on the market right now?

Interesting.
I couldn't get your second link to work, but the first one is merely a conventional centrifugal supercharger with a plantetary gear set.
They make it sound like their set up is revolutionary - gear sets have been used for years to speed up superchargers...
The mention the efficiency of thier gear set, and NOT the actual supercharger setup...hmmm

But interesting none the less.

Second link didn't work for me as well.

I dunno, 125,000 max impeller speed, and you'd have to spin your motor above 12,000 get close to that but yet it only supports up to 620hp? An S-trim will support 680 at less than half of the impeller speed. Me personally, I'd stick to what's tried and true: Vortech, KB, Paxton, Whipple, Powerdyne etc...

The second link was just to a dealer that sells the head units. They also have compressor maps for all the head units and trims available. I just wonder if the planetary gear sets would make a difference in performance. I know they have been around a long time on industrial stuff, but I have never heard of one used on a supercharger before. Maybe this link will work.

Yes - the planetary gears will make a difference, but from thier technical specs its nothing beyond whats currently available.

And yes, that linked worked.

i thought that the floating planetary set thingy was pretty neat, but i don't think that the gear set alone is going to allow that company to out perform what is already out there.
