I was in Wally World to get my oil change stuff today when I noticed some new Fram stuff on the shelf. Sure enough, they had the Fram oil filter for the 6.0. Up to this point, these were not on the shelf. So, curious as I was, I pulled the motorcraft FL2016 and compared the two. The Fram was shrink wrapped with the O-ring inside the wrap. The Motorcraft was not shrink wrapped, and the O-ring was inside the box. The Fram has different size and style of printing on the end of the filter, but the patent #'s and "Made in Germany" were identical on both filters,and visibly they seemed identical. Fram was $15.27, and Motocraft was $19.96(give or take a few cents). The Motorcraft filter had gone up in price last time I picked up my Rotella syn., so I got my filter from Fleetfilter when I ordered my Donaldson air filter. Needless to say, I got the Fram this time. Total was $61.79 (+tax)including 13qts.rotella syn(that's all mine holds). There are cheaper sources out there, but I like to get mine one at a time, so it is not beneficial for me to pay shipping unless I'm ordering other things like fuel and air filters. Just FYI if anyone else is interested.
