Hi, I have a 96 7.3. I just got it not long ago. I wanted to change the fuel filter but there was so much in the way I couldn't get to it. I got the front piece with the two air filters out but I could not figure how to get the rest out. Or do you go in from the dog cover? Thanks for any help.

 

As I recall from the dealership I retired from the diesel technician started to change a fuel filter on a van one day and after an hour or so went to the shop foreman and got a labor time from the flat rate book, 6 hours. The customer decided to install a remote Racor filter and not change the oem filter.

 

Thanks for the reply. Any idea how to go about it? Or where to get one?

 

Check with a shop that does diesel injector and injection pump repairs. They should have a recommendation for a filter.
