The higher boost of the 6.0 is not entirely because of the 1.3 liter less cubic inch,

is is so that the motor can burn a leaner mix of fuel as to cause less soot.

The 6.0 gets less fuel mileage because energy is being spent on forcing air constantly through the turbo.

 

I have not heard of any issues with International running into emissions problems, must be the programming that ford tweaked.

 

The new 6.4 is made by International, the same folks who made the 7.3.

My dad is a firefighter and they got a new truck with a inline 5 diesel cedes.
Its a freakin hoss it pulls hard for a fire truck. The thing is 5 cylinders but its 6ft long. ITS HUGE

Cummins will be in the Dodge for the next couple of years maybe longer. The...I read this in Truck Trend...Posibly mercedies V-8 diesel in RAM trucks. Ford is going to put a V-6 diesel in the F-150 in 09 or 10. The plan right now is to use a version of the European V-6 used in the Land Rover. Read that in Truck Trend also.

 

Yes!! I want to again hear the sound of a two stroke diesel!!! Perkins is my vote.
