98 Explorer Output Speed Sensor

I am trying to find the location of the output speed sensor on my 98 Explorer. Comes with a 4.0 SOHC, 4WD. My snap-on OBDll is returning the codes P720 and P721, which both are oss codes.

On a 97 5R55E the sensor is near the top of the trans on the drivers side.

On the 4R70W it's also on the drivers side midway up the side.

Now I am beginning to think that I have the wrong part in hand. What was sold to us was a Wells SU1019 output speed sensor. Now, I'm no transmission man by a long shot, but I have built more engines than I could ever recall, so finding this part should be a simple task one would believe. Most OSS I have ever installed (not all on fords) have looked more like a temp sending unit, only twice the size. This SU1019 is about 3" long, and has a shaft on the inside end of the part that would remind ya of something an old speedometer cable would hook into. Just doesn't look like something that would fit on a newer vehicle. Anyone confirm or deny this is a right part#?
