historical pricing

Wife asked me a question today - how much did new Bronco's go for during the various years they were produced? Any ideas?

Thanks.

The original purchaser of my 95 XLT paid $24,950.

Sorry I don't know what the MSRP was.

My basic 1996 XL stickered for $23,500 but they were blowing them out in early 1997 for $18,998. (5.0, 5spd, AIR, no carpeting or headliner - just rubber matts). The good old days!

91 Eddie Bauer, 302, listed for $31,825.00. Paid drive out, $22,000 cash. In 91 the SUV craze hadn't arrived yet and they would basically beg you to buy one.

Check your math.
A 79 XLT is more in line with an 96 XL as far as options etc.
$6,000-vs-$18,998 , a $12,998 difference in 17 years.

Most items tend to double in price every 10 yrs or so due to inflation.

Unfortunately, the price difference sounds appropriate to me.

Actually I think ford390gashog was comparing the 79 Ranger XLT to a 96 or so EB(which were both top of the line packages in there time) which would bring the difference back towards $30,000.

My grandfather also bought a 77 F-100 Ranger XLT dected out with everything for its time for $5,000(which I own now).

NADA.com gives the current value and original sale price on most used vehicles. If it's a pre-86, you'll have to look it up as a classic.

With the way gas prices are no ones buying to many trucks, and the companys are trying to give them away.
My Dad almost bought a new F-150 4wd 4 door, Lariet for a little under $30,000, but the msrp was mid to upper 30s.
