The 1939 hood hinge is different than the 1939 car in that it has a flat spot or tab so the side panel can bolt to the hinge at the firewall. My question is the flat tab on the top or bottom of the hinge when it is installed? Some have told me the flat tab is up and others have told me it is down. If the tab is up the bolt goes throgh the side panel first. If it is down it goes throug the hinge first.

Any help would be greatly apprieciated
