Exclamation Oil Pan Hitting Axle!

I don't know if anyone has come upon this problem before or not. Whoever dropped the 302 in my '53 didn't check the clearance between the oil pan and the crossmember. It bends down the bar right behind the axle (I forget it's name) and then puts a dent in the front end of the oil sump. I'm not driving it right now so I don't have to worry about losing the oil or something like that... I'm hoping I can just put a front-sump pan on and not have to worry about lifting the engine. (There's only 3" or 4" of clearance on top) Thanks guys...
