brake lights randomly coming on when parked
I have a 1999 F150 with the passive security system installed from the factory. from time to time the brake lights come on for a minute each time.
Also when the key is in the accessory position they come on.-Is my problem in the column or where?

Sounds like the brake pedal return spring in the booster is leaving the pedal too low - right on the edge of engaging the brake light switch.
Try adding a helper spring from the pedal arm to a suitable mounting location under the dash to see if that helps.
It might also be an issue where the switch can be adjusted.
