Swapping a Ranger d/l into a BII
Hello everyone,
My father has a 1987 Bronco II (I believe it's his fourth Bronco) and it has the stock axles as well as the 2.9, the 4 speed automatic (E4LD?), and the push button 4 wheel drive. Well, over the summer the junk automatic locked up on his way to work so he bought a junk Ranger to get him by for a while. The Ranger has the Dana 35 front, 8.8 rear, 4.0 liter, 5 speed manual, and push button as well. What we want to do is take the axles, motor, tranny, and manual transfer case bolted to a 5 speed Bronco tranny that we picked up for $50 from the Ranger and put them in the Bronco. From what I have read on here, it should be just about a bolt on as far as the motor, tranny and transfer case goes. Wiring seems to be the worst part, but we have time... Anyways, I was just wondering what else is involved. I can picture the pedals being a pain. Also, I read somewhere that the rear spring perches need to be moved on the rear axle? Please just offer any input or advice or whatever. Thanks, Austynn.
